10 Moves WWE Superstars Don't Do Anymore
10. Diving Headbutt (Daniel Bryan)
Don't expect to see Daniel Bryan performing his old Diving Headbutt on WWE TV any time soon.
That move was directly linked to the concussion problems that forced Bryan to retire in 2016, and it's also been cited as troublesome in the past for everyone from The Dynamite Kid to Chris Benoit. Without going into grisly detail about the latter's sad demise, there's no doubt using the headbutt night in and night out isn't good for the human body.
There's no way to avoid impact on the head when diving head first, put it that way. For Bryan, the dive was a spectacular, crowd-pleasing crescendo to his matches. In reality - and once the adrenaline had worn off - it did irreparable damage to his neck and brain. Having been granted a physical reprieve and return to the ring, he's better off for working a much safer style now.
Bryan, partly due to his immense popularity, doesn't exactly need the Diving Headbutt anyway. He can whip crowds into a frenzy without it, and it's one move he should never perform again.
