10 Movies About Wrestling We Actually Want To See

4. The Nature Boy

If you’ve ever watched Story Time on the WWE Network, you’ll be well aware that Ric Flair is positively bursting with road stories. A lot of them are pretty juvenile, or are variations on a theme (the theme being: look at all of these attractive women I had sex with), but it’s fair to say that nobody has seen and done as much in the wrestling business as The Nature Boy.

This is a man whose reputation for crying a lot almost supersedes his reputation for bleeding a lot, a legendary figure within the industry whose accomplishments are unparalleled. So if Paige gets a movie about her life, surely it makes sense that a two-time WWE Hall of Famer and 16 time World champion should be bestowed the same honour.

You can envision Flair’s story being weaved into a Boyhood or Moonlight-esque epic, a movie that sees The Nature Boy face trials and successes at various points in his life. And it’s a life filled with peaks and valleys, moments of fame and glory interspersed with death, tragedy and heartbreak. The Stylin', profilin', limousine riding, jet flying, kiss-stealing, wheelin' n' dealin' son of a gun is exactly the right kind of OTT for movie theatres, and given the right cast and crew, his career highlights and lowlights could be immortalised as a powerful piece of filmmaking. e
