10 Must-See ECW Main Events

2. Tommy Dreamer vs. Justin Credible (Heatwave 2000)

The 2000 version of Heatwave is commonly remembered as an event during which another promotion decided to try and make a name for themselves. Known as Xtreme Pro Wrestling, this upstart company invaded the show, mainly because owner Rob Black was furious that ECW was running in his home area of Los Angeles, California. Reports vary wildly depending who's telling the story, but it appears a fight broke out between ECW and XPW stars when one of them put their hands on Francine. Even though a lot of attention was paid to this apparent invasion, the actual event itself is memorable for the main event, a Ladder Match (known as a 'Stairway To Heaven' match in ECW) pitting ECW Heavyweight Champion Justin Credible against fan favourite Tommy Dreamer. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xswsf_ecw-200-tommy-dreamer-vs-justin-cre_news It seemed like the stars had aligned for Dreamer to finally have a lengthy run with the ECW Title, but he'd leave empty-handed on the night. The bout itself had a pretty interesting concept for a Ladder Match - instead of the title being hung above the ring, there was barbed wire, and it'd come into play throughout the collision.
