1. Funk vs. Douglas vs. Sabu (The Night The Line Was Crossed 1994)
In 1994, ECW was still a long way from Pay-Per-View, and an even longer way from securing a National television deal. Looking to help out the new promotion in their attempts to carve a niche for themselves on the market in North America, the legendary Terry Funk would step foot inside the ring with both Sabu and Shane Douglas. The event was known as The Night The Line Was Crossed, and the main event was a 60-minute time limit draw. Going into the match, Funk was the ECW Heavyweight Champion, and the feeling was either Douglas or Sabu would pin one another, taking the belt from Funk's grasp. Incredibly, due to the expiration of the time limit, Funk would remain champion, in what was the first ever one-on-one-on-one (Triple Threat) match promoted in a main wrestling company in the US. It was a historic evening, and even though many felt the bout was relatively long-winded, and the conclusion did draw some boos from the live audience in attendance, everyone quickly appreciated the effort put forth by the three men involved and this led to a standing ovation.
