8. The Demise Of Karl Anderson And Luke Gallows In WWE

A couple of items on this week’s Must-See list were included for pessimistic reasons, beginning with the latest pair of Anderson and Gallows losses to The New Day.

The bedding-in period for The Club in WWE has nearly reached the six month mark, and it has come time to definitively admit that Anderson and Gallows have thus far flopped on the grandest stage in pro wrestling. Some of it has been the inconsistent presentation (i.e. taking them away from AJ Styles after a mere two month alliance on WWE TV), some of it has been forced attempts at comedy that categorically failed (i.e. the Old Day), and some of it has been a distinct letdown in the ring when opportunities have arisen.

So far, it has just not worked out for Gallows and Anderson and, while the potential remains for them to recover and start showcasing the degree of talent that made them such hot prospects in NJPW, they will now have to overcome a decidedly lackluster start.

A seven-minute defeat in a rapid fire opening match on PPV followed by a solidly unspectacular TV rematch on Raw should be replayed by viewers as the beginning of the end or, hopefully, the end of the beginning for the Gallows and Anderson tag team’s initial foray in WWE.
