The July 2 episode of SmackDown was a celebration of the United States of America and, as such, it was only fitting that the greatest American hero in WWE history was featured prominently.

Hulk Hogan partnered with young breakout star Edge to challenge Billy and Chuck for the WWE Tag Team Championships. The bleach blonde heels had dominated the tag team division for months, defeating duos such as The Hardy Boyz, Dudley Boyz and APA.

They had never run into an icon the likes of Hogan, though, and found out the hard way that when it comes crashing down, it hurts inside.

With the weight of the country on his back, Hogan entered the arena to "Real American" and then proceeded to drop the big leg and guide him and his jubilant partner to championship glory.

There was a childlike enthusiasm on the face of Edge as he watched his childhood idol celebrate the title win just feet away, as if every dream he ever had was coming true.

Hardly up to the quality of some of the other matches featured, this contest belongs on the countdown for the history (Hogan's first and only tag title run) and the emotion of the moment.
