10 Myths About Brock Lesnar That Are Entirely False
4. He Only Beat Mark Hunt Because He Was Juicing
When news of Lesnar’s USADA failure broke, the same fans who’d been praising him for beating an opponent that was expected to destroy him quickly switched sides and claimed that the only reason the former UFC heavyweight champion was able to soundly defeat Mark Hunt by decision was because he was taking some form of PEDs. Anyone who watched the fight with an objective pair of eyes knows that the result of that three round war can’t be chalked up to steroids.
Brock Lesnar is naturally much more powerful than Hunt, and would be with or without the assistance of any drugs. It was a combination of his power, natural speed and athleticism, and his superior wrestling ability which allowed him to easily control that fight.
Steroids don’t strengthen your chin nor do they make you a more gifted wrestler. Brock was winning that fight regardless of any enhancements. Hunt only had one real chance at victory and that was to land a knockout punch, something he was unable to come close to doing. People may not want to admit It – especially those who are detractors of Lesnar and wrestling in general – but Brock is an elite heavyweight in UFC should he choose to compete. His genetic gifts combined with his wrestling pedigree make him a tough day at the office for anyone. That’s not because of steroids.
