10 Myths About Brock Lesnar That Are Entirely False

5. He's A Terrible Promo

While he’s not among the elite talkers in the company – men like Bray Wyatt, John Cena, and Dean Ambrose – Lesnar isn’t the terrible promo that most people make him out to be. Sure he’s no Paul Heyman, but no one is. When he made his return in 2012, he had one disastrous live promo where he floundered, and afterward immediately demanded that Vince bring in his advocate to speak for him.

But if one were to look back over the course of his career, especially in his first run in WWE, Brock has shown some impressive charisma on the mic. His feud with Eddie Guerrero produced some hilarious moments, he had great chemistry with Kurt Angle as the milk-drinking amateur wrestling buddies, and he’s cut plenty of decent promos.

In fact, he speaks so rarely now that when he does have something to say it adds weight to the situation. Lesnar telling Heath Slater that he “doesn’t give a sh*t about his kids” was a highlight of the last few months of Raw. When he was in UFC, Brock was one of the most charismatic speakers on the entire roster, and his famous post-fight promo after defeating Frank Mir is still one of the greatest interviews in the history of the sport.

So while Lesnar isn’t going to show up on any “Best Of” promo lists anytime soon, don’t discount him as someone who can’t find his way around a microphone.
