10 Name-Drops You Never Thought WWE Would Allow (But They Somehow Did)

8. John Cena References The Bullet Club

Up until a few years ago, WWE were seemingly completely against the mention of any wrestling property which originated outside of their walls.

Names, matches and even stables were all non-existent in their eyes if they didn't first come to light inside of a WWE ring.

That's why when a concept or title born in the likes of TNA or NJPW sneaks its way onto WWE programming, fans are left picking their jaws up off the floor and giggling at the thought of Vince McMahon ripping his hair out due its very utterance.

One man who often seemed invulnerable to the wrath of the boss was the 'Face Who Ran the Place' himself, John Cena, and that was clearly evidenced in his audacious name-drop of one iconic stable from the far east in 2016.

AJ Styles and The Club were locked in a war of words with Cena when the 'Leader of the Cenation' riffed that the fans already wanted to see two of the greatest stars in all of wrestling collide, without the involvement of Styles' 'junkies from the Bullet Club.'

Fans (and the trio themselves) were left reeling at the acknowledgement of this uber popular NJPW stable and it helped reinforce just how decorated the three talents up against Cena had been outside of WWE - whether McMahon approved or not.
