10 New Directions After Last Night’s AEW Dynamite

8. Wardlow’s Next Hurdle

This, admittedly, is still a guess.

Josh Woods saved Mark Sterling from eating a powerbomb at the hands on Wardlow on Wednesday night. That came mere seconds after the TNT Champ had dispatched ex-WWE man Tony Nese like some 1980s jobber, and it hints that Woods is next in line to challenge the champ.

Bring that right on, 'cause these could be some bruising bouts between that pair. Wardlow needed a fresh challenge anyway - he couldn't continue treading water alongside the likes of FTR, or working nothing exhibition matches without any sense of direction. This dude needs a feud, in other words.

Former ROH Pure Champ Woods is a fine choice...if that's the route AEW plans to go down. He's physically dominant in most of his matches, so should match up well against a power guy like Wardlow. Yeah, these two could have some sleeper hits for sure, and TK should definitely follow up on that tease.
