10 New Directions After WWE Draft 2016
6. Strowman On His Own
At the start of the year, there were a number of reports suggesting
that the relative newcomer Braun Strowman was being mooted for a match with the
Undertaker. The idea was soon dropped due an alleged fan backlash, but if the
results of the 2016 Draft are anything go by, a push could be back on the
cards.
Strowman himself has been drafted to Raw, with Bray Wyatt over on SmackDown.
Having flown the nest, it's likely time for that monster Strowman singles push that we almost saw at WrestleMania. Besides, at 6’8” and nearly 400lbs, you can’t expect Strowman to
be lingering in the lower reaches of the card.
It’s a risky game, as we’ve seen former members of the Wyatt Family flounder after embarking on a singles runs; and neither Erick Rowan or Luke Harper were quite as green as Strowman is. But hopefully that just means that the company will have learned from the mistakes they made before.
Furthermore, Strowman looked like an absolute monster in the recent Compound scuffle with the New Day. Granted he can’t compete in a swamp every week, but that skit showed that he certainly has the potential to shine when given the chance.
