10 New Directions For AEW After All In 2023
AEW could look a LOT different by the time that next Wembley Stadium show rolls around.
Forget bogus tribalism and all that sh*t. If you're a pro wrestling fan, then you're still buzzing with glee over what AEW achieved at Wembley Stadium this past weekend. Tony Khan's company rocked the house in front of a passionate (and utterly massive) live crowd. This was a celebration of the medium, simple at that.
What's next?
Here's the beauty of wrestling: It's a 'what have you done for me lately?' kinda industry, so Khan and pals don't have much time to bask in the afterglow of a job well done. They've still got TV shows to write, another pay-per-view to produce imminently, and stories to keep rolling heading into 2024.
The All Elite overseer could sleep soundly on Sunday evening knowing the future of his promotion is in safe hands though. Emerging stars are ready to grab AEW by the balls, but it's not all fun and games - one old stager might be set to wind down his illustrious in-ring career, and another could become as part time as part time gets.
Here's what to expect in the short and long term on Dynamite, Collision and more.
10. All Out!
Well, this was bold!
It was certainly a choice to schedule two pay-per-views on successive weekends in London and Chicago, and it remains to be seen if that was wise. However, there’s simply no time for back-patting and celebrations after All In; AEW, Tony Khan and crew have to do it all over again at All Out this weekend.
Yes, this weekend. That means they have just one episode of Dynamite, Rampage and Collision respectively to round out the card (which is currently five matches strong) and give those folks in the United Center something to be proud of. Following up on London is gonna be tough, but not impossible.
This is life in the upper tier of the biz though, isn't it? Basking in the sunshine is often hard when you're ploughing forward with enough content to make even WWE blush. All Out isn't on the horizon, it's bloody well here already, and AEW has to meet that challenge head on.
