10 New Directions For AEW After Full Gear 2023

9. Toni Storm Recruiting Mariah May

Putting the AEW Women's Title back on Toni Storm was honestly a no-brainer.

Sure, the finish to her match vs. Hikaru Shida felt pretty awkward, but fans are into 'Timeless' Toni and it's gonna be mission impossible for All Elite to pretend she's a heel champ for long. The fanbase has embraced Storm's new gimmick, and they'll be hungry for more of it now she's back on top of the division.

The good news is that newbie Mariah May rushed out to literally give Toni her flowers at Full Gear. This, and the fact May has already interacted with Storm on-screen, means there's a solid chance Mariah will become 'Timeless' Toni's protege going forwards.

That's a wonderful spot for May to be in. She's coming into AEW as part of an act that's already one of the best in the biz, and she'll be boosted by association with Storm. Fab productions and a lot of laughs await everyone.
