10 New Directions For AEW After Revolution 2024

8. Wardlow Getting A World Title Shot

It feels like a sick joke that we’re back at Wardlow vs. Samoa Joe.

That issue wrecked Wardlow’s TNT Title push in late-2022, and he’s barely recovered since. Winning the interminable “All-Star Scramble” match at Revolution is a step in the right direction, but for how long? It’s honestly hard to see Wardlow beating Joe for the World Title in 2024. It really is.

The Undisputed Kingdom's powerhouse will get that crack at Joe sometime soon though. If AEW waits until Dynasty, then don't be surprised if that ranks as one of the most low-key World Title pay-per-view bouts in promotional history. Nah, Tony Khan will bung it on TV instead.

Let the re-heating process for Wardlow continue. He'll smack some lower-card workers around, cut some shouty promos and then vow to bring the World Title to Adam Cole. Hey, perhaps this is all leading to MJF's comeback so he can screw over his old bodyguard and Cole all at once!
