10 New Directions For AEW After Revolution 2024

5. Mercedes Mone's Debut

Sting AEW Boss
NJPW/AEW

How could anyone forget about this?

Look, it remains to be seen whether or not Mercedes Mone will move the needle on TV and deliver a long string of ticket sales for shows like Dynamite or Collision. Hardly anyone else coming in has managed to achieve that for longer than a short spell, but people are right to be excited about the ex-Sasha Banks in AEW.

The 13 March Dynamite has been subtitled 'Big Business', and it's already looking like a crap ton of fans will put bums in seats to see Mone become #AllElite properly. No, her cameo shot at Wembley Stadium last summer doesn't really count. Mercedes is about to embark on a proper in-ring run with the company.

Boston is ready to greet her. Then, we'll just need to wait and see what kind of impact Mone has on the women's division and AEW business as a whole. It'd be a shame if she cut Toni Storm's wonderful run short, for example, but Khan has a tendency to favour shiny new things.
