The Raw Women’s Championship wasn’t the only title to change hands at Hell in a Cell; we also saw a new Cruiserweight Champion crowned as Brian Kendrick defeated TJ Perkins via some fairly shady shenanigans.

Regardless of how he got there though, it’s a victory that does plenty to mix up the division with a heel champion now in possession of the belt. It’s also a victory that makes this feel like less of a true Cruiserweight division and more of a slightly-smaller-than-average-guys division, but I digress…

In terms of steps for the future, obviously Perkins is another who’ll be in line for an automatic rematch for his recently-lost title. But if the writers want to avoid game of championship hot potato, then they’ve a readymade challenger to face Kendrick in the form of Cedric Alexander.

Not only has Alexander been super impressive since debuting with the company, but he also scored the decisive victory in the pre-show six-man tag bout, making him something of a frontrunner in the division.

As well as making this a fresh direction, crucially it would also be an exciting one.
