10 New Directions For WWE After Hell In A Cell 2016

4. Cesaro & Sheamus To Work Things Out... Surely?

I honestly don’t know what to think about this Sheamus and Cesaro storyline off the back of Hell in a Cell.

After Sheamus inadvertently caught Cesaro with a Brogue Kick in their tag title match with the New Day on Sunday, it looked like we’d be seeing the dissolution of this dysfunctional, reluctant pairing. However, they’d then go on to technically defeat the champs via disqualification, meaning they’re perfectly deserving of another shot at the Raw Tag Team Championships.

So assuming that they’ll be teaming up at least one more time, and due to the fact that they’ve already slogged through a best of seven series together, to me it seems like the only option for Sheamus and Cesaro is to thrust their alliance in a new direction and somehow have them learn to coexist with one another.

This is kind of a new direction by default, based mainly on the presumption that surely the company can’t repeat a feud that they just exhausted with a best of seven series?

That being said, I’d have no idea how they’d go about getting on the same page—but right now it seems like the only long-term option for this pairing.
