The rumour mill says Trips has handpicked one Karrion Kross as a pencilled-in opponent for modern-day Bruno Sammartino and SmackDown kingpin Roman Reigns. Christ knows when this might happen, or how WWE would get there - Kross and Reigns are both heels, so they'd need to be careful fans don't tune out long before they match up in-ring.

Heel vs. heel is a tricky story to tell.

It's fair to say that Karrion hasn't exactly rocketed up the rankings since returning with a bang in the summer of 2022. He showed early promise, but started losing at an alarming rate and has struggled to recapture fan imaginations during mini-feuds vs. Rey Mysterio and Shinsuke Nakamura.

Of course, it wouldn't take much for creative to reheat the guy. He could start smashing through the competition, and he does have some history with Roman. Upon returning, Kross said he'd take out both Drew McIntyre and Reigns, so WWE can work with that.
