9. Jinder Mahal Feuding With Rusev

How dare WWE book Jinder Mahal to pin Rusev on Rusev Day.

In all seriousness, it was remarkable to watch SmackDown's writers move away from their original United States Title story (Randy Orton vs. Bobby Roode), write Mahal to win the belt at 'Mania and hint that both Orton and Roode will be expelled from the title scene immediately in favour of Jinder vs. Rusev.

That's surely what's coming on the next episode of SmackDown. It'll be a big surprise if Rusev and Aiden English don't claim that Sunil Singh's distraction caused Rusev to lose his chance to win gold on the grandest stage. From there, a feud between ex-tag partners over the next few months makes sense.

As much as it sucked to see Rusev, who was clearly the live crowd's choice to win, lose at 'Mania, perhaps it'll be worth it when he beats Mahal somewhere down the road to win the US Title for a third time. Should that happen, WWE must ensure the reign means something and isn't complete throwaway.
