It might seem somewhat contradictory to complain about the same people feuding all the time before calling for a reprise of one of wrestling's greatest feuds, but remember this: the only time a 'Fight Forever' chant has been warranted was when Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn were doing battle inside the squared circle.

Owens and Zayn were tied at the hip for a long time, but rekindling the feud between the two may well be just what SmackDown and the Intercontinental Championship needs. What's more, the roles have well and truly been reversed; Owens is now the beloved babyface, while Zayn is the entitled and neurotically arrogant heel. A new version of the Owens/Zayn feud could turn the SmackDown ship around.

Debating how to bring credibility back to the Intercontinental Championship is a superfluous discussion that has been going on longer than the belt had any credibility in the first place, but by gum, this is the feud to do it. There are few pairings on the planet that make magic whenever they step in the ring and WWE is lucky to have one such duo on their roster. The draft has brought Sami and Kevin back together.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
