10 Next-Level Tweaks That Took Wrestlers From Lame To Cool As F***

9. Rhea Ripley Becomes Mami

Now it's worth noting right away that Rhea Ripley wasn't exactly an entirely lame performer before she started referring to herself as the 'Mami' of Monday nights.

This was an unquestionable badass who had already taken both NXT and the main roster by storm, winning NXT and Raw Women's Championships in her early 20s.

However, it's fair to say that the star's momentum certainly slowed down in the wake of dropping that latter title to Charlotte Flair at Money in the Bank 2021, with bland partnerships with Nikki A.S.H. and Liv Morgan not giving the gifted performer the chance to properly grow as a main character on WWE programming.

That all thankfully began to change when a now-heel Ripley brought her always violent and rather charming work to the Judgment Day in 2022, with the hard-hitting Australian tweaking her already quite goth-like look by adding jet-black hair and even more intimidating studs and spikes to her gear.

Combine that with Ripley's willingness to let her real personality shine more than ever before as the cheeky-but-brutal leader of the Raw heel faction, and you now have one of the coolest and most engaging characters in all of wrestling.
