10 Non-AEW Stars Who Should Challenge For The TNT Championship

9. Alexander Hammerstone

Zack Ryder TNT Champ
MLW

How is Alexander Hammerstone not signed to one of the two big companies yet? The man is a beast. Hammerstone is a mountain of a man with charisma in spades, and the sort of moveset that excites both the purists and the new-fangled spot-loving public. He also looks like the lovechild of Triple H and Shane Douglas, although it is unlikely that those two could ever find enough common ground to father a child.

But anyway, Hammerstone. The current (and inaugural) MLW National Openweight Champion, Hammerstone has improved considerably over the last two years, flourishing as the muscle of The Dynasty and working with the promo magic of MJF. Now, Hammerstone is still the sort of performer that excels with a mouthpiece, but there's no shortage of excellent managers in pro wrestling..

It is only a matter of time before Alexander Hammerstone is signed to WWE or AEW, and the latter should get in while the getting is good. AEW's hoss division is heating up, and Hammerstone would be an excellent addition to it. Testing the waters with an AEW TNT Championship challenge makes a lot of sense.

Also, 'Meatcastle' is a fantastic nickname.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
