Zack Ryder to AEW seems like a no-brainer. Close friends with Cody, criminally underrated and ignored talent, an expert in the art of using the internet for pro wrestling purposes. Long Island Iced Z and #AllElite go together like the proverbial magnet and steel.

Ryder is now free to show up on Dynamite if he were asked to do so, and it will only be a matter of time before he does. Answering Cody's open challenge for the AEW TNT Championship is a nice easy way to introduce him to the show, although a performer of Ryder's magnitude more than likely deserves something more than an unannounced random appearance. Still, it whets the appetite, does it not?

The next year or so of Zack Ryder's career is going to be extremely interesting. Long considered underrated, the Internet Champion is now in a position to go out and prove all the naysayers wrong and the supporters right. Will he thrive, or will he go the way of so many before him? A statement of intent in the form of a barnburner with good friend Cody should put the pessimistic at ease.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
