5. Chris Hero

A true wrestling genius, Chris Hero is destined to go forever underrated on national television. His NXT runs will forever be remembered with irritation and anger, as WWE allowed a world-class talent to go ignored. Well, there was that tenure on NXT UK, but the whole 'bear doing its business in the woods' comes to mind.

Now 40 years of age, even the most optimistic of Chris Hero fans must admit that the days of him sitting atop of a major promotion are gone. Hero's role moving forward will be little different to his role of the last few years; namely putting younger talent over, with the occasional big stage performance used to add credibility and authority to championships and tournaments.

The AEW TNT Championship needs more credibility and authority. Who better to provide it in a losing effort than the Knockout Artist himself? Chris Hero was one of the many names on Cody's famous list, and the two did battle on a couple of occasions before Hero returned to NXT. Four years have passed, and one last match between the two would do wonders for both.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
