10 Non-AEW Stars Who Should Challenge For The TNT Championship

4. Minoru Suzuki

Minoru Suzuki is a real throwback. Legitimacy and a true sense of danger are priceless characteristics in 21st-century professional wrestling, and the ultimate murder grandpa has both in spades. Now into his sixth decade on this planet, Minoru Suzuki is every bit as credible now as he was decades back. He has done it all but there is plenty left in the tank.

Not only does Suzuki bring danger and legitimacy, but he also brings another intangible quality that many wrestlers lack. The former IWGP Intercontinental Champion doesn't actually win that many matches, yet he never seems to lose any credibility in defeat. All of these attributes combine to create the perfect challenger for a championship that needs to be established.

Cody vs. Minoru Suzuki is also a very fresh match. The two have gone one-on-one just once, back in 2017 when Suzuki challenged then-champion Cody for the ROH World Championship. Cody won, decisively too, but 2020 Cody is different to 2017 Cody. 'The Man with the Worst Personality in the World' would be a more than viable challenger for the American Nightmare's newly-minted championship.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
