These two behemoths have been entangled in storylines for the past six months and yet have not had a televised singles match. WWE must be saving this showdown for a big stage.

Indeed the McIntyre-Strowman feud continued at Elimination Chamber when ‘The Scottish Psychopath’ assisted Baron Corbin to a win over ‘The Monster Among Men’ in their no-disqualification match. Hopefully Corbin will be moved on from this rivalry following his decisive defeat in a tables match on Raw, but there is definitely unfinished business between McIntyre and Strowman.

With Strowman having just eaten a pin at the hands of one of RAW’s least credible heels, it doesn’t seem as though WWE have plans to write him into a major storyline in time for WrestleMania, so a long-awaited one-on-one match with McIntyre is probably the best that he can hope for. The Royal Rumble runner-up has drawn worse hands at the last two 'Manias, when his momentum and popularity have arguably been greater.

For McIntyre, this would represent an excellent conclusion to his first full year back on WWE’s main roster, and a victory would establish him as RAW’s top bad guy, and a natural challenger to Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship, post-'Mania.
