If any WWE wrestler had a custom theme song during the '80s, '90s and '00s, it was probably Jim Johnston who created it.

Johnston served as the company's primary music composer from 1985 until 2017, putting in an incredible 32 years with the promotion.

In that time he created themes for the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, The Undertaker, Vince McMahon and countless other megastars. He also created a lot of the music for WWE's weekly programming, pay-per-views, video games, movies, as well as other Vince McMahon projects, such as the WBF and the XFL.

When you consider how important a wrestler's music is in getting them over, it turns out we have a lot to thank Jim for. So many incredible themes that conjure up so many amazing memories have sprouted from his mind. Without him, WWE would be a very different place indeed.

And how did the company thank Jim for his thirty-plus years of work? By releasing him from his contract with absolutely no fanfare or recognition. Of course they did.

Jim's omission is a total enigma - perhaps WWE think that people won't know who he is because he was never on TV or maybe he had some backstage issues that also involved him getting released so unceremoniously.

Whatever the reason is, it's a dumb one, because Jim is an absolute legend.
