10 Non-Wrestlers Who Need To Be In The WWE Hall Of Fame
6. Earl Hebner
If there's a more famous referee in wrestling, then... who are we kidding, there's no one more famous that Earl.
Even Earl Hebner's debut in the WWF was history-making. He posed as his twin brother, Dave, to officiate a WWF Championship match between Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant. It was later revealed that Earl had been bribed by Andre's manager, Ted DiBiase, to screw Hogan out of the title. The results of this match set in motion the WWF Championship tournament that took place at WrestleMania IV.
Earl would go on to have many memorable moments in the WWE over the next 17 years. These included a feud with Triple H, a match at WWE Invasion against WCW referee Nick Patrick, and the small matter of being the referee who rang the bell at the Montreal Screwjob.
Hebner has also worked for TNA/Impact and officiated at last year's All In show. He's even a member of the Impact Hall of Fame. There's no doubt he'd be in the WWE Hall of Fame already, had he not been fired from the company in 2005 for selling counterfeit merchandise.
For being the most recognisable referee in the world of pro wrestling and for playing a key part in some of the WWE's biggest moments, Earl deserves to have someone raise his hand for once as they induct him into the Hall of Fame.
