Story: A big reason why Bret had a lot of problems with Shawn Michaels is because they made their feud personal in 1997. Instead of taking shots at each other like most wrestlers do, they would make verbal jabs at one another that had nothing to do with wrestling storylines. Bret did things like calling Shawn gay while Shawn responded back by saying that Bret had "Sunny Days." It was a reference to Bret's rumored affair with former WWE diva Sunny. It was that comment that apparently led to the Bret/Shawn fight. Bret was a married man with kids. Apparently, that comment upset his wife and that's why Bret confronted Shawn about it. In his book, Bret wrote about how he cheated on his wife on the road all the time although he never said anything happened with Sunny. She denied anything happened with Bret to. In a related story, Sunny has said that she dated Shawn for about six months without a lot of people knowing, so Shawn either said it just because he wanted to stir up trouble or he was bragging because he was the one that was with Sunny. You could never really tell with him. Why People Believe It: Sunny had a rep for getting around, so to speak. With Bret saying he wasn't loyal to his wife (now ex-wife) on the road it makes people think there's some truth to Shawn's comment. Should We Believe It: We should give Bret and Sunny the benefit of the doubt since they have both denied anything happened between them. Then again, Bret admitted to cheating on his wife while on the road, so something definitely could have taken place.
