2. He Will Never Be Welcome Back In WWE After Threatening Legal Action
Story: This past summer, it was revealed that Punk was threatening to take legal action against WWE due to royalties. Apparently he had his lawyers craft up a 22 page letter questioning what WWE was doing with his name. In response to that, WWE put all of Punk's merchandise on a massive sale and got rid of everything with his name on it. If you go to WWEShop.com and type in "CM Punk" you will see nothing. Back in January, he had the second most merchandise items after John Cena. Not only did Punk quit on the company in January, but he also had his lawyers question how they are using his name. That must have infuriated WWE, which is why they took the action of putting all Punk merchandise on sale like that. All of his merchandise is gone now. It was as if they were saying: "Are you happy now?" Why People Believe It: This was a bitter divorce. Punk left right before he was set to be in a top WrestleMania match. There was no warning. Nobody expected it. WWE's reply to his legal letters showed that they weren't messing around either. Some fans believe he's never coming back. Should We Believe It: For now yes, but in the long term no. The phrase "never say never" fits in pro wrestling. We have seen people that hated WWE return to the fold. Punk could be just like them. It probably won't be 2014 and it may not be 2015, but down the road it wouldn't be a surprise if we saw WWE's Straight Edge Superstar back in a WWE ring again. Never say never.
