2. He Had Heat With WWE For Wrestling In TNA After 2008 Retirement

Story: Flair's retirement angle building up to WrestleMania 24 in 2008 was a huge story in WWE that year. He competed in a number of matches that would see him retire if he lost, but he always found a way to win. The night before WrestleMania 24 he was inducted into WWE's Hall of Fame one night before the big match with Shawn Michaels. Everybody knew Flair was going to lose, so we were all excited for it. It was a very good match that probably wasn't a match of the year, but still very memorable especially for the "I'm sorry I love you" superkick by Michaels that won the match. It was very emotional as Flair hugged his family at ringside and cried quite a bit, which was understandable. That was his last match at 59 years of age. In late 2009, Flair wrestled Hogan on a tour of Australia that Hogan put on using his name and then in 2010 Flair signed with TNA Wrestling while also wrestling with them as well. The reason? He needed the bookings and the money. WWE wasn't using him, so he needed to work to help pay the bills. How did WWE feel about it? We never really found it, but we could assume they didn't like it. Why People Believe It: WWE spent all that time building his retirement at the biggest show of the year and then he wrestled elsewhere. It's understandable that WWE would be mad. Should We Believe It: Yes, WWE might have been upset a bit although they never even acknowledge TNA's existence so there's no way of knowing for sure. They also know Flair has had money troubles, so they probably figured he just did it for that. Since WWE brought back Flair after he was done with TNA it's likely that they weren't that mad at the guy.
