Story: There are all kinds of rumors that Shawn was gay with two names always being mentioned: his good friend Triple H and his boss Vince McMahon. During a October 6, 1997 promo on Raw, Bret Hart called Shawn a "homo" along with Triple H. It was his way of getting heat on Michaels, but it wasn't the first time he insinuated that. Others called Shawn "HBGay" instead of "HBK" as a way to insult him too. There were times in the mid to late 1990s when Shawn got to change in Vince's office away from the rest of the boys, so he had a lot of heat. There were all kinds of allegations about something going on between them. Why People Believe It: Wrestling fans will believe just about anything. They know that Shawn was close with Hunter and also with Vince, so there was believability in that sense. Should We Believe It: No. There's no proof of anything like that. It's just something people have said and usually they're people that don't like Shawn.
