7. John Morrison's WWE Career Was Doomed After Teaming With Snooki

Story: Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi is a celebrity because she was on the very popular reality show Jersey Shore that was on television from 2009 to 2012. Even though it wasn't the kind of show that was great for having interesting content, it was very popular. Those of us that didn't even watch the show knew who Snooki was just because the people on the show were a part of pop culture. At WrestleMania 27 in 2011, WWE brought Snooki in to be a part of a WrestleMania match. She teamed up with John Morrison and Trish Stratus as the babyface team against the heel duo of Michelle McCool & Layla (aka Laycool) as well as Dolph Ziggler. They had a very forgettable match that went about four minutes where Snooki hit a couple of moves, but that was it. Despite the fact that it was a short match, it was controversial because Morrison wasn't happy to be a part of it. He didn't want Stratus to be on the team. He wanted his girlfriend Melina on the team instead even though she really wasn't a featured diva by that point. When a celebrity is involved in a match, wrestlers are supposed to accommodate them. Not make things difficult. Morrison had heat because of it. Why People Believe It: He got a mild push post-WrestleMania, but it's not like he became a full time main eventer. People believe the heat story because he was gone from WWE later that year and hasn't been back since. Should We Believe It: Yes it's true although his issue was with Stratus more than Snooki. Morrison left WWE in late 2011 while his girlfriend Melina was released a few months before that. Coincidence? We think not. He has always maintained that he was on good terms with WWE. You can see him these days on Lucha Underground as Johnny Mundo. A WWE return seems unlikely for him.
