10 NXT Call Ups To WWE Main Roster – 5 We Will See And 5 We Won’t
4. WON'T - Moustache Mountain
Pete Dunne’s British Strong Style pals Tyler Bate and Trent Seven have had interesting NXT careers.
Both men competed alongside Dunne in the first UK Title Tournament, Bate of course was the surprise winner and held the title for 4 moths before dropping it to Dunne at Takeover: Chicago. Seven, however, didn’t show up properly in NXT till late 2017.
Rarely seen, the two tagged on occasion in filler matches, until all of a sudden, at the 2018 UK Title Tourney event, Moustache Mountain defeated Undisputed Era for the NXT Tag Titles. In what was clearly just a move to appease the UK fans with a hometown victory, the titles were switched back to the UE 2 days later at the next batch of NXT tapings.
After failing to regain the straps, the pair were shipped off to be the faces of the NXT UK brand. Mainly using their status' to put over upcoming tag teams such as Grizzled Young Veterans and Gallus. Bate went on other singles run, unsuccessfully challenging WALTER for the UK Title at Takeover: Cardiff. Other than that, the two big strong boys have done little of note.
Combined with Seven’s advancing age, it doesn’t appear that the duo will move to the main roster as a pair. Bate still has potential to make the jump by himself, due to a young, 23 year old age. But more than likely, Pete Dunne will ditch his brethren and leave them stuck in NXT.
