10 NXT Stars Who Desperately Need Main WWE Roster Call-Up
2. Carmelo Hayes
There may be no one as naturally gifted in NXT as Carmelo Hayes. After holding onto the North American Championship for a combined 273 days, Hayes has shown that he is a megastar in the making and doesn't need World Titles to prove it.
Echoing the words of John Cena in his first promo in NXT, Hayes has brought "ruthless aggression" to everyone he has gone toe to toe with and has hit it out the park every time. It is true that "Melo don't miss".
While seeing Hayes with the NXT Title around his waist would be a lovely visual, there is an argument that he doesn't need to hold that belt after already being "The A Champion".
Instead, Melo and WWE would benefit if they just propelled him straight to the big leagues. Now, you have many routes to go down with Hayes. Do you have him go it solo? Do you make him the missing piece to the Hit Row puzzle on SmackDown? Do you try and detach Omos from MVP, and put Hayes with him on Raw? Do you call up Trick Williams and have them as a tag team on either brand?
Whatever the next few months holds for Hayes, there should be no doubt in any minds that he is a global megastar in the making and a future face of the business.
