10 Obscure WWE King Of The Ring Facts

3. Bret Hart Won The Title Twice

To date, Bret Hart is the only man to have won the King Of The Ring on back-to-back occasions. Admittedly, the first tournament win was in the final house show event the company ran under the banner of the title, but it nonetheless proves just how high the promotion were on Hart at the time. In 1991, the future WWE Hall Of Famer would vanquish IRS in the tournament final, in - you guessed it - Providence, Rhode Island. From there, Hart would have one of his greatest performances ever, beating 3 other men on his way to winning the first King Of The Ring on Pay-Per-View in 1993. Taking supreme pride in his performance, Hart endeavoured to have a trio of distinctly different bouts against Razor Ramon, Mr. Perfect and Bam Bam Bigelow, something he would achieve with aplomb. Even more amazingly, the man never used his trademark Sharpshooter to win any of his matches, looking to prove that he was the greatest wrestler on the roster.
