8. The Compère And The Auction
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x56si0_eddie-guerrero-steals-kurt-angle-s_sport When Kurt Angle was first introduced at 6:15pm and brought into the suite, he got a standing ovation and the crowd went mental for their Olympic Hero. After Kurt went over to greet the ticket holders to get their photos taken, the fans waited 20 minutes and were then able to get printed copies of their photo to take home or get Kurt to sign. This was a nice touch and fans seemed really happy with it. By around 7pm, the VIPs were back in line again to get their autographs from Angle and it was around this time that Grado made his entrance. Then from about 7:30pm-8:30pm there was a Compère commentating the whole event at a really LOUD level to the point you couldnt hold a conversation with the person beside you. He was a really enthusiastic guy, just the sound level was a bit loud. As part of this portion of the evening, he proceeded to go through the crowd and ask as many people as possible to say Kurts catchphrase Its true, its damn true. As a Scotsman, listening to Scottish people doing American accents (badly) for 20 minutes on a house mic is my idea of hell. I was so incredibly glad when that part was over, but the fans seemed to get a kick out of doing Kurts catchphrase for him. Following this, fans had the chance to buy some limited edition memorabilia from signed Ric Flair and Bret Hart items to football jerseys, belts and other cool stuff. A man nearby bought a belt that he was very happy with.
