10 Observations From Attending EVOLVE 67 Live
9. Cruiserweight Classic 2?
If the rumors are to be believed, WWE's Cruiserweight Classic may become an annual event. If, indeed, the company ends up looking for a brand-new slate of 32 cruiserweights next year, EVOLVE would be a good place to start. Men like Fred Yehi and Marty Scurll would be great additions to the tournament.
Another star who could easily draw some eyes in the CWC is Peter Kaasa. The diminutive-yet-muscular star has drawn comparisons to Neville, and while he's only wrestled a few matches for EVOLVE, he's coming off of a tour with Dragon Gate and his stock in wrestling is higher than ever. He was in action at EVOLVE 67, taking on a stylistically-great opponent in Tony Nese.
Nese, of course, was part of the inaugural Cruiserweight Classic, which has increased his exposure exponentially. There's no doubt that Kaasa would love to be in Nese's shoes, and the first step was a great showing against him. While the match was a little disjointed in places, both men got a chance to show just how athletic and skilled they are. Nese won, but Kaasa has great things coming in EVOLVE and elsewhere.
