10 Old WWE Gimmick Matches That Need To Say In The Past

5. Dog Poop Match

The Rock British Bulldog

The British Bulldog was one of WWE’s most recognisable stars in the 1990s, but there was nothing good about his final run with the company. Returning in 1999, WWE decided to strip away everything that made Davey Boy Smith stand out. His ‘Rule Britannia’ entrance theme was replaced by generic Attitude Era rock music, the Union Jack tights were gone, and he became a faceless hardcore brawler.

Bulldog turned heel a few months after returning, and started chasing the WWE Championship. He feuded with The Rock for a short while, and Rocky eventually challenged him to a Dog Poop match. The goal? To slam the opponent on a tray of... well, you know.

Davey Boy picked up a predictable loss as he was Rock Bottomed into the fecal matter, and while WWE have done everything they can to make fans forget about this horrible concept, they can’t scrub it from history. It’s one of the dumbest things they’ve ever made The Rock do, and frankly, it’s miraculous that it didn’t prompt him to escape the wrestling business sooner. Fortunately, WWE are still to book another Dog Poop match.
