10 Oldest World Champions In Wrestling History

3. Sting - 52 Years, 113 Days

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVhXdMSGLTE Date: July 11th, 2011 (aired on July 14th, 2011) Event: Impact Age Of Champion: 52 years, 113 days (116 days at time of airing) Whether you like Sting or not... whether you like TNA or not... one thing that is for sure is just how much legitimacy his signing brought the company. His first stint with TNA came in 2003, but realistically, that was a part-time stay, and it wasn't until his second time around, in 2006, that things really began to buzz. He would win four World Titles while with the company (one while it was still the NWA-TNA Title, and three when it was simply TNA), but by the time 2011 rolled around, fans were calling for him to retire. He wasn't in the best of shape, his in-ring skills had deteriorated tremendously, and it had been a long time since he was properly able to perform his own finishing move, the Scorpion Deathlock. For fans of "The Stinger" during his NWA and WCW days, it was almost depressing to watch. Instead of retiring, Sting became the TNA Champion again, approaching 52-and-a-half years old. He was still, perhaps, the biggest star on the roster, and was still one of the most over on the roster, as well, so it's not like the company decided to name a nobody as champion. It remains telling, though, that the decision to put the belt on Sting ranks so high on this list.
