10 Oldest WWE Royal Rumble Competitors Ever
Age is just a number.
One of the great things about professional wrestling is that legends of the past can occasionally return to the ring to compete. Such a thing is impossible in other sports, as aging athletes simply cannot keep pace with those in their prime.
Given the predetermined nature of the sport, a superstar in their fifties can still be entered into a match and compete with the younger wrestlers. Watching a legend return to the ring in an attempt to recapture their former glory, if only briefly, evokes a sense of warm nostalgia in even the most jaded wrestling fan.
The 2017 Royal Rumble is just around the corner, and the event is traditionally a place for such old-timers to make a surprise yet welcome appearance. Some of the most exciting entrants of Rumbles past are the legends of yesteryear entering the squared circle one more time. While most competitors over the age of fifty last only a few minutes, it’s easy to get lost in the experience and forget just how old some of these storied competitors are.
Who was the oldest of all-time? Let’s find out.
10. Vince McMahon - 53
Date of Royal Rumble: 24 January 1999
Date of Birth: 24 August 1945

Vince McMahon is the oldest Royal Rumble victor of all-time. Winning the 1999 edition of the PPV, he technically lasted almost an hour in the match.
However, he spent most of his time fleeing from rival Stone Cold around the arena. The owner of the company even joined the commentary team for a brief period. After winning the rumble, McMahon relinquished his title opportunity at WrestleMania XV, unintentionally giving it to Stone Cold himself.
