4. Cody Rhodes & Kaitlyn

"What do you think of Kaitlyn", Cody Rhodes asked Damien Sandow during a backstage segment on the March 8th edition of SmackDown. This came just weeks after the two had an awkward exchange in a corridor during an episode of Main Event. It was all very...sweet, actually.

Reduced by the scale of his increasing crush, Cody was charming in the role, foreshadowing a babyface turn that'd actually come several months later during a feud with then-partner Sandow over the Money In The Bank briefcase.

The meetcutes seemed destined to lead to something deeper between the pair, but it never developed beyond the early stages (not least after the returning Bella Twins returned to briefly steal his heart), and Rhodes was about to embark on the most prosperous run of his career alongside his Brother and Dad, rather than potential girlfriend.

Outside of a miniscule reference to it during an angle later that year that featured Kaitlyn speculating over having a secret admirer, the whole thing was dropped.
