10 Once Awesome WWE Storylines Which Overstayed Their Welcome

1. Seth Rollins Vs The Mysterios

What began as one of the best storylines of the summer has slowly dragged on and on...and on. The 'Monday Night Messiah' has been terrorising the Mysterio family since May. That's right, you heard correctly, May.

While the match quality hasn't really dipped at all, the sight of seeing the two parties go at it lost its interest value at least a couple of pay-per-views ago. The storyline started out nicely with a fresh matchup we'd never seen, and the two performers mixed well in the ring. The pair had a few fun bouts and exchanges, all leading to the main objective, which was the debut of Rey's son, Dominik.

Then Rey lost his eye.

An interesting way to go, for sure, but really this moment killed the interest of fans immediately. It was just silly and unnecessary.

Then Aalyah got involved and the whole thing has turned into a cross between the Eddie Guerrero is Dominik's father storyline of 2005 and some weird telenovela.

With the pair meeting for what appears to be the ‘final’ time on a recent edition of SmackDown, we might have actually seen the last of this storyline. Could it be? We can all hope.

But we also won't be surprised if the company decides that it can be stretched another couple of months...
