6. Seth Rollins Vs Dean Ambrose
When Dean Ambrose returned just before SummerSlam 2018, he looked in the best shape of his life. He was ready to return to the company and take the wrestling world by storm with all the ideas that he had formed in his head while injured.
A few weeks in, it became very obvious that the ideas would not be used and Ambrose had now given up and wanted out.
The program that was brewing between him and old pal Seth Rollins, however, looked promising. The pair had a great rivalry when they clashed a few years prior with the heel and face roles reversed, so it was exciting to see it all play out again.
Unfortunately, someone in creative decided to get Roman Reigns' real-life battle with leukaemia involved. Suddenly, the most exciting program at the time devolved into the most distasteful.
Ambrose didn't care and neither did the fans, but the rivalry continued on, getting worse and whackier the longer it went. It was almost impossible for the pair to have truly bad matches due to their incredible chemistry (though that TLC 2018 disaster wasn't exactly a high point for either man). But unfortunately, the rivalry had just become increasingly uncomfortable to sit through.
It could have been so much better, it really could have, but sadly, just like the others on this list, it overstayed its welcome.
