10 On-Screen WWE Couples That Had No Chemistry

2. John Cena & Aj Lee

From November 2011 until April 2013, AJ Lee was involved in a conveyor belt of on-screen relationships. Daniel Bryan would be the start, and the belt would go through Kane, CM Punk, John Cena, and Dolph Ziggler before coming to an end. AJ Lee was a truly talented performer and managed to make all of these relationships exciting and almost natural. Well, all except the relationship with Cena that is.

Maybe it is his American Action Hero persona, but John Cena and on-screen romance have never been the most comfortable of bedfellows. He kisses like someone who looks like they have been taught how to kiss on-camera, and his smooching with AJ Lee came off as particularly wooden.

Two top performers, but next to no charisma. Luckily, the relationship lasted only a few weeks.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
