10 OTHER Chris Jericho Dream Matches That Need To Happen

8. Hiromu Takahashi

While we’re on the subject of Jericho and Junior Heavyweights, how about a match with Dragon Lee’s great nemesis?

Chris Jericho vs. Hiromu Takahashi would be a clash of styles to say the least, but watching the older man try and ground the insanity of the Ticking Time Bomb would be a sight not quickly forgotten.

With Jericho scheduled to take on Tetsuya Naito at some point in the future, this could be a singles bout to help keep the story moving in that direction. Hiromu looks likely to challenge Will Ospreay for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship instead, but watching Jericho try to antagonise Naito further by battering his younger compadre would make for compelling viewing.

Even without the story, Chris Jericho vs. Hiromu Takahashi is a dream match for many. Jericho’s crazy old man character in New Japan would actually fit snugly with Hirmou’s less than sane persona, and some engrossing character work would be guaranteed. Would Jericho take a sunset flip powerbomb off the apron?

That isn’t so certain. Or wise.
