Much like Tomohiro Ishii, it is difficult to put a list of dream matches up for any modern wrestler without including the name of the current IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion. Will Ospreay can lay claim to being the best cruiserweight wrestler on the planet today. His matches are consistently excellent, and you have to travel far and wide to find a more accomplished active aerial performer.

With that in mind, watching a curmudgeonly Chris Jericho ground Ospreay through anger, salt and bitterness would be a joy to watch. Chris Jericho is on the cusp of becoming wrestling’s great angry grandad, and Angry Grandad vs. Hipster Gymnast is a wrestling classic waiting to happen.

Much like potential matches with Takahashi and Dragon Lee, it isn’t entirely clear whether or not Jericho would be able to keep up with the younger, faster opponent. The match wouldn’t be about that, however; these bouts would be indicators of the ability of the newcomers, who would have to wrestle a different sort of match in order to overcome the King of the World.
