10 Most Outrageous Oversellers In Wrestling

2. Michael Cole Gets...Hit?

This is really harsh because Michael Cole isn€™t even a wrestler so he should never have to sell. But if you€™re going to feel guilty it€™s probably fair to remember that Michael Cole is doing very well for himself, and your laughs don€™t take away from the fact that he is a multimillionaire. So let€™s mock him. At TLC 2014 the action went outside the ring and inevitably the talent came into contact with the announcer€™s table. We can only assume that part of the plan was for Cole to take a €˜bump€™ (presumably off camera) so that the madness of the match and the disregard for the wrestler€™s surroundings could be hyped up. And while this is kind of a stupid idea, it€™s no less stupid than half the other ideas that WWE does on a weekly basis, so it€™s not exactly a big deal. Except if this was the plan, it didn€™t work out right, and they stuffed it up completely. Because unfortunately the WWE cameras caught Cole taking a bump so soft that it made the WWE referees look like Brock Lesnar in comparison. Seeing Cole oversell this nothing bump meant that all the impact was taken out of it and it distracted hugely from what was up until then a pretty decent match. It was particularly painful for fans when Cole came back trying to sound groggy as if he had just taken a punch to the face from Floyd Mayweather. This was an oversell that never needed to be, because the situation should never have arisen in the first place. But for all those who enjoy taking the mick out WWE€™s announce team, it€™s probably a bit of a gift regardless. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrRMR1rArgs
