The selling of a missed high spot is one of those things that non wrestling fans just dont understand, and always comment on when they occur. After all, how are we to believe that doing an epic 450 splash or shooting star press, and landing on a human body is more pleasant than landing on a flat wrestling mat? The answer as we all know is that we just do because we love this art form and we want to suspend disbelief. Sometimes though its a bit hard to suspend disbelief when after missing a high spot an athlete has a reaction that is delayed, and the reaction also makes it appear as if they have been shot in the gut. This effort from Cody Rhodes, one of WWEs most versatile and talented workers, is pretty indicative of how an oversell on a missed high spot can make even the strongest workers just look plain silly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6bptZ3uv9o
