Refreshingly this idea wasn't a bad one and would undoubtedly have made Vince McMahon a ton of money. It's included here because it really would have been a mega shock if the deal had got done for this spectacular main event - Hogan vs Tyson. In the late 80's and early 90's you had two box office sensations; pro wrestler Hulk Hogan and heavyweight boxer Mike Tyson. The promoter in Vince McMahon recognised the money potential in putting both men together and attempted to sign what would be the biggest main event of the era: The Immortal Hulk Hogan vs Iron Mike Tyson. Plans for this would have included Tyson coming in to referee a Hogan vs Macho King match at WWF's The Main Event. However, the unthinkable happened on February 11th 1990 - Mike Tyson was astonishingly knocked out by Buster Douglas in a spectacular boxing upset. That resulted in Tyson withdrawing from his role and McMahon ended up using Douglas for the special referee spot instead. The planned Hogan vs Tyson match was completely nixed as the boxer instead focused upon getting his career back on track.
